St Francis High School Referendum

Dear Community Members:

The St. Francis School Board is committed to ensuring that our students have safe facilities that reflect the goals and priorities of our community. Central to these efforts is our commitment to make the most efficient use of tax dollars, provide safe schools that are economical to heat and maintain, and provide what is necessary for a quality education.

As the board develops a plan to meet its needs, it is undertaking a process that involves the participation of the community. Earlier this year, the district administered a survey that was sent to every household. The survey asked community members about what they thought was important. The results of that survey provide a great starting point for the board's work.

Earlier this year, the board asked community members to assist the district as part of a community facilities committee. This committee, whose members represent a cross-section of the St. Francis community, will present the board with a prioritized list of facility items they believe the board should address.

This web site is a clearinghouse for all information related to the survey, the work of the committee, and the solutions that will eventually be presented to the community as referendum questions. As a result, it will be updated on a regular basis. The board believes that this work must be done with the active involvement of the community, and the board welcomes the participation of all community members.

If you have questions about any of the items on this page, please contact a school board member or Superintendent Carol Topinka.

Thanks again for your involvement in this very important process,

Jacqueline Hemmer, President
St. Francis School Board
